ENHANCE LA JOLLA 2021 BOARD ELECTION 

APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR A SEAT ON THE BOARD

There are four Director seats up for election on the Enhance La Jolla Board. The seats available are:

  • Property Owner Representative – Commercial (2 seats)
  • Community Member-at-Large (1 seat)
  • La Jolla Community Foundation (1 seat – determined by the La Jolla Community Foundation)

Those interested in applying for board membership should download the application at the link below. Submit completed applications to Enhance La Jolla by emailing applications to manager@enhancelajolla.org by 5:00 p.m. on September 20, 2021.

APPLICATION FOR BOARD MEMBERSHIP

THE ELECTION PROCESS

The slate of candidates will be posted on the Enhance La Jolla website. Online voting will occur October 13-20, 2021. Voting is open to property owners within the boundaries of the Maintenance Assessment District. Ballots will be counted by an independent third party from the City of San Diego and results will be announced and accepted during the October 21, 2021 Enhance La Jolla Board of Directors Meeting. This meeting will be held in person at 4:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the La Jolla Ridford Library.

Enhance La Jolla has 13 Directors on its governing Board. Pursuant to the bylaws, 7 are property owners (or representatives of property owners) paying the LJMAD assessment; 3 are members of the Board of Directors of the La Jolla Community Foundation; 1 is a member of the La Jolla Village Merchants Association; and 2 are representatives of the La Jolla community at large. TERMS AND ELECTIONS

The initial terms were measured from the date the management contract was signed with the City of San Diego. As Director terms expire, seats stand for election at the annual meeting. Property owners within the MAD (or authorized property owner representative) are eligible to stand for election and to vote.

The ELJ Management Contract with the City of San Diego was signed on September 4, 2019.  This date governs the start of the terms of the members initially appointed to the board.
