Enhance La Jolla (ELJ) is dedicated to the maintenance and physical improvement of the Village of La Jolla. Established as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, ELJ is managed by Village property owners and other
community stakeholders. The primary goal of the organization is to help ensure that the Village remains the jewel of San Diego and create inviting and appealing public spaces that will bring people together and improve the quality of life.

Nominations can be made from property owners within the Maintenance Assessment District for board membership from 2025 through 2028 and can be made by visiting our web site at www.EnhanceLaJolla.org with “Call for Nomination 2025 Board Election” at the top of the page or by mail to Enhance La Jolla 1131 Wall St. La Jolla, CA 92037. Nominations must be received by Monday October 6th, 2025.

Nominees must be a property owner within the district with the exception of Members at Large. The district boundaries can be viewed from our web site page at: The District – Enhance La Jolla.

There are four (4) three-year term seats available:

  • 2 – Property owner or property owner’s representative paying the LJMAD assessment (non-profit, residential, or commercial) Ed Witt, Peter Wagener have self-nominated.
  • 1 – Member at Large, Rick Sparks has self-nominated.
  • 1 – Member representative of the La Jolla Merchants Association.

Voting is open to all commercial and residential property owners within the district boundaries. Enhance La Jolla has 13 directors on its governing board. According to the organization’s bylaws, seven are owners (or representatives of owners) of commercial, residential and nonprofit properties paying the MAD assessment; three are board members of the La Jolla Community Foundation; one is a member of the La Jolla Village Merchants Association and two are representatives of the La Jolla community at large.

The election timeline is:

  • Request for Nominations: September 26th until 5:00pm on Monday, October 6th, 2025.
  • Voting: Thursday, October 9th, 2025 to noon on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 on the ELJ web site www.EnhanceLaJolla.org or by mail to Enhance La Jolla 1131 Wall St. La Jolla, CA 92037.
  • Election and Annual Meeting: Election results will be announced at the Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 16th at 4:00pm. Notices will be sent to all eligible members.
